The story about how I lost Rayan

 I lived in Florida for a few years and then moved to New York City. When I moved to New York I started 4th grade. I met a few people became friends with them and everything was great. But one of those friends that I made was Rayan. He was a tall, skinny and funny person. We became best friends and always hung out during lunch and whenever we could during the school day. We became close and shared a lot of secrets. Then middle school came and we ended up going to the same middle school. We started talking more and more everyday and got even more close. We were inseparable. But 8th grade came along and he caught feelings for me. I can't deny I had feelings for him as well but I didn't want to ruin the friendship that we had going for 6 years. Romeo the hopeless romantic.

    Romeo is in love but also feels guilty. He feels hopeless. He didn't realize who the girl belonged to when he fell in love her. He is in love with his enemy. After he kisses her, she gets called by the maid and when he follows her to see her mother he notices that she is not a regular girl. He says "Is she a Capulet? O dear account! My life is my foe's debt." That was his reaction to the news. He finally realized.. he fell in love with his enemy.      So just to give some background information Romeo is a Montague. The Montague's and The Capulet's have never gotten along. Juliet which is the girl he fell in love with at the feast is a Capulet. Who's the best wolf girl?

 Debate on Who the Best wolf girl may be.  The reading was quite interesting and I liked how everything just fell into place in the end. As the story went on and on it got more and more interesting. The story kept me interested and wanting to read more. When my group and I were preparing for the debate we all contributed ideas and evidence to support our claim. Honestly I believe that Mirabella is the best wolf girl because she was the only one that kept her wolf traits and stayed true to her wolf personality. She was the only one that still cared about protecting her sister's and about how they felt. What is Assimilation?

 As you can see from the title of this post I will be discussing What Assimilation is. Incase you don't know what Assimilation is, it's the act of changing aspects of one's identity, including cultural identity, to fit social standards. Now this isn't something that happens in just high school. It happens everywhere. Personally it's so messed up. People shouldn't have to change themselves just to fit in with societies standards. Society should lower their standards or learn to accept people who are different from how they are. Just because someone dresses differently, eats different food, speak a different language, act a different way or have a different skin color than you doesn't mean you need to make them feel embarrassed about it or make them feel like they need to change how they are. Everyone is unique and different and you shouldn't judge them for that.  Imagine if you went to some other country and they didn't know about things that you do. ...

Local Eats

 Some essential foods from my home town (Guyana) are egg ball, potato ball (my fav), fishcake (also my fav) and many more other pastries. From the way the pastries are hand made to the way it is fried or baked, and how good it tastes is so amazing. I've grown up eating these pastries and I have always loved and enjoyed eating them. I don't eat them everyday but when I do get to eat it it's just so tasty and savory. There are many other pastries that are made in Guyana or just by people who are from Guyana. These pastries can be found in many stores on liberty avenue in Queens borough. It honestly sometimes amazes me that people from other countries and states try our food and end up loving it.
